Screen Printing Basics

This class is your introduction to screen printing and/ or orientation to the studio and equipment at HSAC. This hands-on 3 session class takes you through the basics of creating screens, printing, and troubleshooting.

You’ll spend time with the design process as well and learn multiple techniques for creating screen-ready artwork. Get familiar with the studio workings at HSAC and comfortable with the steps to creating projects in a print studio. Open to beginners and those with previous screen printing experience.

Screen Printing Basics is a prerequisite for other screenprinting classes at HSAC.

The classes are limited to 12 students. The 3 session classes cost $200, with all materials included in price. But we suggest bringing a notebook and pencil!

HSAC Paper Shop!

The Haight Street Art Center's (HSAC) Paper Shop is a new addition to the studio! Since HSAC staff were not able to find a physical store in the area that had the paper selection their students wanted, we decided to offer a shop for students during our studio workshops and open studio hours. The HSAC Paper Shop allows students to avoid having to ship and carry their paper into the studio every time they want to print and allows them to explore a variety of paper options. We are starting with offering white, natural, black, and foil paper options as well as tote bags! The hope is to offer a more affordable and convenient options for paper.

A special thank you to Exceptional Papers for donating their holographic foil papers.
