Ages 15+

Screen Printing Basics

This class is your introduction to screen printing and/or orientation to the studio and equipment at HSAC. This hands-on 3 session class takes you through the basics of creating screens, printing, and troubleshooting. The 3 sessions take place over 4 weeks. In the first two weeks, we’ll meet as a full group. For the final two weeks, the class splits into two smaller groups to allow everyone the space and resources needed to work on their projects. You will sign up for one of these final weeks based on your schedule and preference.

You’ll spend time with the design process as well and learn multiple techniques for creating screen-ready artwork. Get familiar with the studio workings at HSAC and comfortable with the steps to creating projects in a print studio. Open to beginners and those with previous screen printing experience.

Screen Printing Basics is a prerequisite for other screenprinting classes at HSAC.

The classes are limited to 12 students. The 3 session classes cost $200, with all materials included in price. But we suggest bringing a notebook and pencil!
