Mission Engagement Manager
The Mission Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing the Haight Street Art Center’s messaging on various platforms and ensuring the mission of the organization is communicated through marketing of exhibitions and programs, social media, website updates, and community outreach.
About HSAC
Haight Street Art Center (HSAC) in a non-profit, 50c3, organization that currently serves the broader community of San Francisco through two primary channels: exhibitions and public education programming.
Exhibitions serve to connect generations through visual art and storytelling rooted in San Francisco counterculture and social justice. All exhibitions are free, and open for private tours for elders and groups who benefit from a small group setting.
Educational Programs engage intergenerational communities through screenprinting and poster making. HSAC utilizes an on-site print studio and pop-up events to raise awareness surrounding social justice issues and build bridges within local communities including elders, youth, historically under-represented groups, and artists.
Haight Street Art Center’s Community Outreach Programs provide inspiring workshops and lectures on poster making and screen-printing for organizations including Willie Brown Jr. High School, Openhouse LGBTQ Elder Care, and The Institute on Aging Senior Services, along with events in GG Park including Outside Lands, and at the SF Ferry building in support of farmworkers rights.
Job Duties:
Marketing and Communications
• Manage the HSAC brand, including brand integrity and visibility across the organization, and training staff on brand and messaging standards.
• Manage, design, edit and publish HSAC’s print and electronic communications including e-newsletters, annual reports, advocacy alerts, press releases, and other publications and collateral.
• Serve as quality control and editor on print materials and website.
• Manage strategy, design, and content development for HSAC website and digital media platforms.
• Member of a team responsible for growing HSAC’s membership and increase participation in learning programs.
• Manage marketing and promotion for HSAC exhibitions, programs, and community events.
• Manage, and strategize, and monitor all HSAC social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
• Track progress and effectiveness of communications and marketing activities.
Community Outreach
• Oversee HSAC outreach programs
• Facilitate and coordinate community events
• Manage communication and relationships with community partners
• Support Grant fulfillment activities
• Create strategies for increasing the visibility of HSAC’s mission and program support
Desired Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong project planning, critical thinking and problem solving; self-motivated and self-directed.
• Skilled in visual design. Experience with design software and Shopify preferred.
• Proficient in using social media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• 2-3 years of experience in communications or a related field.
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector preferred.
• Strong networking and relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Experience with membership databases, MailChimp, and Salesforce preferred.
