ARTivate: Your Food, My Work, Our Land

 

This summer nine interns, two TA's, and three artists with Artivate worked together making individual prints with renowned muralist Oscar Lopez in conjunction with his project Your Food, My Work, Our Land in support of California farmworkers. In addition to the print making, the students engaged with Oscar in an investigation of food justice issues in California, visiting his mural at Fort Mason Center, and joining him in live screen printing pop-ups in community at Farmers Markets.

We are proud to show their work in our Print Studio Gallery through October 27th, alongside a retrospective of posters Oscar Lopez created for screen printing pop-ups between 2023 and 2024.
