The Further Send Off

Ken Kesey’s original “Furthur” bus is leaving San Francisco for now, and Haight Street is sending it off in style. On Halloween, the legendary psychedelic bus will roll east down Haight Street on a flatbed truck, with a live band following on a second vehicle. The music plays the whole way, with a 30-minute outdoor concert at each of two stops.

The band hasn’t been announced yet, but expect music in the spirit of the Grateful Dead.

 

Joining in:

Come watch and dance along the sidewalks. Spectators can NOT walk behind the vehicles or join the procession in the roadway.

 

The Route:

Start: Haight & Stanyan

Furthur will be departing at 1:11 pm from the intersection of Haight St. and Stanyan St.                  

Stop 1: Love on Haight

Bus will be parked just east of Masonic, for a 30-minute concert at Love on Haight.

Stop 2: Haight Street Art Center

Bus will be parked outside of 215 Haight St. for a 30-minute concert before a final farewell.
