19th Amendment: 2020 Vision Open Aug 26 to Sep 30
VIEW ONLINE EXHIBIT HERE
The Haight Street Art Center is honored to announce an exhibition in commemoration of the passage of the 19th Amendment. On August 26 (the day that the Amendment was passed into law), HSAC unveiled in an outdoor display and released for sale online the work of 22 women and non-binary artists. Their art celebrates the achievement of the suffragists, reflects on the complex and troubled history of the suffrage and voting rights movement in the United States, and points to a more hopeful future in which all people, especially those from marginalized communities, have full enfranchisement. We are proud to host their work, and look forward to looking and learning alongside our community about what we can all do to fulfill the true promise of the 19th Amendment.
The exhibition is now on view in the Garden Gallery Aug 26-Sep 30, 7am-9pm and online 24/7.
