Ralph Steadman's "Savage Journey" Exhibit

Ralph Steadman's "Savage Journey" Exhibit

In 1970, British artist Ralph Steadman first dazzled viewers with his powerful caricatures and impressions of the fears, foibles and follies of America. Famed gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson found Steadman to be the perfect foil for his searing insights, and insisted on his art to illustrate many of Thompson's best works, most famously Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

The Haight Street Art Center is honored to present a selection of Steadman's most incisive works, surveying the career of this internationally recognized iconoclast and visionary through the cracked window of his lifelong fascination with the country that helped him forge his vision and shape his art.

Savage Journey exhibit runs through May 31, 2018

Ralph Steadman: A Retrospective runs Nov 6, 2018 to Jan 20, 2019
