Artivate: Feminism Now!
We worked with City Studio, Collective Action Studio and Project Artivism to create Artivate: Feminism Now! exploring feminism and other activist ideologies and how they continue to have power in the current #MeToo environment, both in the studio and out in public. The exhibition features the work of our talented teens reflecting on the lives of the elder activists who live next door to the Center at Openhouse.
In addition, we are featuring prints responding to Indigenous People's Day under the direction of artist and activist Rye Purvis, along with pieces reflecting on the life and passing of renowned local artist and teacher Hung Liu that were featured at the October Joy on Joice event at the Chinese Historical Society of America.
The Artivate: Feminism Now! exhibition is free and on view through January 23, 2022. Visit us at 215 Haight St, Thu 12-8pm and Fri-Sun 12-6pm.
