Born in 1967, Chris Shaw’s career as an artist started in the early 1980′s creating flyers for punk bands in Boston. After moving to California, he attended the California College of Arts and Crafts. Alongside classical print techniques, Chris learned the arts of screenprinting, posters, and mural painting from Malaquias Montoya. Since, Chris has created a prolific stream of both political and rock posters featuring diverse imagery and messages. His concert posters have featured many of the top bands in the music industry, while his political work has seen wide exposure. Shaw’s work as a painter includes painted murals for clubs, concert stage sets, and fine art paintings.  

Chris Shaw’s artwork and posters have been shown at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Oakland Museum, exhibitions worldwide, as well as being featured in numerous books and media. Chris lives and works from his studio in Oakland, Ca.
