Carolyn Ferris

Long-time Fairfax, California resident Carolyn Ferris creates art for homes and offices, logos, CD covers, tour posters, tees, and package design projects. She has created well over a hundred rock posters.

Ferris worked with Timothy Leary for over six years, creating paintings and illustrations for his books and articles and made “Multimedia Canvas Paintings" with him. She began her poster art with a poster for Prodigy at The Warfield in 1997. More posters for The Fillmore and Maritime Hall soon followed. She began making posters for Moonalice and Roger McNamee in 2009, and continues working with them.

Several years ago, Wes Wilson, the father of rock concert posters, taught Ferris to ink and hand letter posters. She relocated to southwest Missouri. As partners, Wes and Carolyn created over 40 pieces together that were finished and many others in the midst of being created. In September, 2018, Carolyn returned to Fairfax and opened Carolyn Ferris Art Studio in downtown Fairfax. By day, the space functioned as her design studio and gallery, while at night, she had art courses taught by some of the best artists in the Bay Area. Through the year there were weekly live model nights.

Carolyn then bought a house and studio where she now lives in Chico, CA.
